North Platte Giving Day makes it easy and convenient for people to help favorite community causes in North Platte and Lincoln County, Nebraska. North Platte Giving Day is hosted by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
North Platte Giving Day is Wednesday, May 7, 2025, ending at at 11:59 PM Central Time. Early Giving begins April 23.
Each organization must be recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charitable organization in good standing with the IRS. Each organization must satisfactorily demonstrate that they have a location and provide regular charitable services other than religious in North Platte or Lincoln County, Each organization must provide requested information and respond in a timely manner to reasonable requests related to participation in the Giving event.

Participating nonprofit organizations will receive the full value of each donation. Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation covers all transaction processing and credit card fees.
Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation will make payments to each nonprofit organization following the conclusion of North Platte Giving Day and after all transactions are verified and reconciled. This is normally within 2 to 3 weeks.
Nonprofits, including Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation, may not provide or promise goods or services in exchange for a charitable contribution.
Donors will receive an immediate thank you and tax receipt from Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation for an online donation. If they donate by check, they will receive a thank you and receipt from Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation once the check has been processed. Unless anonymity is requested by donors, nonprofit organizations are urged to also thank and recognize donors.
The total amount and the number of donations to various participating nonprofits made during the North Platte Giving Day campaign will be made public. Information about individual donors will NOT be made public by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation.
Much of the profile information provided by each nonprofit will be made public to inform donors about nonprofit services and activities. Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation may edit the public profiles of nonprofits published on the online giving site.
Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation hosts North Platte Giving Day and administers the online giving site. They approve registrations by nonprofits to participate in the North Platte Giving Day campaign and may edit the public profiles of nonprofits published on the online giving site. They promote the North Platte Giving Day campaign, coordinate local giving sites, receive online and check donations, and distribute 100% of donated funds to donor-selected nonprofits. They approve sponsored cash prizes to nonprofits and administer the awarding of those cash prizes.
Donors are the rockstars of North Platte Giving Day, but nonprofits are the ones who get them to the show. Nonprofits are encouraged to tell their supporters about the day and promote the services they provide and any projects they are working on. Nonprofits can do this through social media, newsletters, articles with local media, and any other way they communicate with donors. Past trends have shown that the more an organization promotes giving and their cause and activities, the better they do. Each nonprofit is responsible for any arrangements regarding a pledge of new matching funds for donations made to that nonprofit during the Giving Day campaign and is also responsible for the collection of any earned pledged matching funds.
Beyond providing a service to help charitable people make donations and disburse funds to donor-designated nonprofit organizations, Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation makes no warranties, claims, or representations pertaining to the effectiveness of any participating nonprofit organization nor to the amount of money any nonprofit may raise.
A limited number of funds administered by Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation will participate as nonprofit causes and will be eligible to receive donations during North Platte Giving Day. These funds include the Cody Park Tennis & Pickleball Courts Fund, the Miss Nebraska Scholarship Foundation Fund, and the North Platte Public Library Foundation Fund, to name a few examples.
